Please read these instructions carefully before you start: To ensure that your urine sample can be reliably analyzed in the laboratory, please note the following:
- Use the first stream of urine (not the midstream!) – ideally your first urine of the morning or after at least 2–3 hours since your last visit to the toilet.
- Wash your hands and genital area thoroughly with clear water (without soap) and dry everything well.
- Do not touch either the inside of the Monovette or the urine aspirator to avoid contamination.
- Activate your sample as described in step 10. Without activation, your sample cannot be evaluated and will be disposed of by the laboratory.
- Send the sample on the day it is collected or no later than the next working day.
- You can find the official instructions for the Urine-Monovette® here – refer exclusively to part b.
Step 1: Preparation
Wash your hands thoroughly and dry them completely.
Clean the intimate area:
Women: Spread the labia, clean the vulva with water, and dry it.
Men: Retract the foreskin, clean the glans with water, and dry it.
- Open the email “Important for your test result: Please activate your test,” as you will need it later.
Step 2 – Collecting the urine sample
- Urinate into a clean container (e.g., a clean glass). Collect only the first stream of urine (10–20 ml).
- Open the yellow cap of the Urine Monovette® and set it aside.
- Attach the enclosed plastic aspirator to the opening of the Monovette.
- Immerse the aspirator in the urine container and draw the plunger up to the mark (~2 ml).
- Hold the Monovette upright and pull the plunger rod all the way down to empty the suction tip.
- Remove the aspirator and break off the plunger stem at the predetermined breaking point. Securely close the Monovette with the yellow cap.
Step 3 – Registration & Shipping
Open the email you received in advance and click “Activate test” in the test profile. Follow the remaining steps and enter your details so that the order can be sent to the laboratory.
- Place the sealed Monovette in the plastic bag with absorbent material.
- Press excess air out of the bag and seal it carefully.
- Place the protective bag in the pre-addressed return box and seal it.
- Add your return address to the return label.
- Put the box in a mailbox or hand it in at a post office on the same day.
- As soon as your sample has been analyzed by the laboratory, you will receive a notification and can view your result online.

What is a capillary blood test, and how does it work?
A capillary blood test is a modern way to test your blood values easily at home. A small lancet is used to collect a drop of blood from your fingertip and apply it to a special test card. The sample is then sent to a laboratory for analysis. The main advantage: You don’t need a doctor’s appointment—you can conveniently determine your levels yourself, for example, of vitamins, hormones, or nutrients. The mybody® guide to capillary blood tests shows you step by step how to collect and send the sample correctly and access your results digitally.
How can you have your blood values tested at home?
If you want to have your blood levels tested, modern self-tests make it easy to do so today. With a capillary blood test, you collect a small blood sample yourself, which is professionally analyzed in a laboratory. You receive the results within a few days—reliably, accurately, and digitally. The analysis can cover important health markers such as vitamin D, iron, thyroid levels, or inflammation markers. This allows you to monitor your health status yourself without long waiting times at the doctor’s office. At mybody-x.com, you can find various tests to have your blood levels checked specifically.
What exactly does a blood test show?
