What exactly is examined in a DNA analysis?

Over 170 gene variations, known as SNPs, are analyzed. These are tiny differences in the genetic makeup that everyone carries and that influence how your body processes nutrients, responds to training, or copes with stress. Only variants whose connection has been well established scientifically are evaluated.

What is the difference between a DNA analysis and a blood test?

Your DNA shows your predispositions: what is built into you and never changes. A blood test shows your current status: how well you are currently supplied with nutrients and how your body is functioning today. DNA therefore explains the why, while blood values show the now. Together, they provide the complete picture.

Do I need to repeat the test at some point?

No. Your genes remain unchanged from birth through the end of your life. A repeat test would produce exactly the same result. A single saliva sample is sufficient, and your report remains valid permanently.

Can DNA analysis tell me whether I will become ill?

No. The analysis is intended for nutrition and lifestyle counseling; it is not a diagnostic procedure and does not predict disease. Genetic variants describe probabilities in population groups—not predetermined outcomes for individuals. Your lifestyle has a far greater influence in most areas.

How does a DNA analysis at mybody work?

You order the test online and receive a kit with instructions at home. You collect a saliva sample—no appointment or blood draw is required—and send it to the laboratory in the enclosed return envelope. After approximately 20 to 25 business days, your complete analysis will be available as a report in your personal user account.

What happens to my saliva sample and my data?

Your sample is processed under a pseudonym using a unique identification code, and your data is stored on European servers in compliance with the GDPR. The saliva sample and DNA sequence are completely destroyed two months after the analysis is completed. Nothing is shared.
