Insight into your thyroid function
Recognize what your body is missing
If the thyroid does not produce enough hormones, this causes a slower energy metabolism.
On the other hand, a thyroid that is working too quickly can be a common cause of a daily feeling of restlessness without any specific cause for stress and rapid weight loss.
This thyroid TSH test measures the amount of TSH in the blood and from this TSH value the function of the thyroid can be determined.
Do you know your values?
One third of the world's population suffers from hypothyroidism, particularly women and the elderly.
Therefore, the test offers you the opportunity to detect a possible hypothyroidism from the comfort of your own home and without waiting times or doctor's visits.
The blood values measured are those also used by family doctors for thyroid examinations.
- Unique: Perform TSH test from home
- The test shows you your current TSH level

What is a TSH value?
TSH, also known as thyroid-stimulating hormone, is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland that stimulates the thyroid gland to release the hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). T4 is converted to T3 to stimulate the metabolism of all tissues in the body and regulate the endocrine function of the thyroid gland.
Our rapid test provides information about the TSH level in the body. Deviations from the normal value of 5 μIU/mL should be a reason to see a doctor and have further tests carried out.
A high TSH level in the blood may indicate an underactive thyroid, while a low level may indicate an overactive thyroid. The causes of both conditions can be varied, so a thorough examination of the thyroid is advisable.
How does hypothyroidism occur?
If the concentration of the thyroid hormones T3 and T4 in the blood is too low, the thyroid is said to be underactive. Conversely, if the concentration of the hormones is too high, the thyroid is said to be overactive. There are various causes for the underactive thyroid. The most common cause is inflammation of the thyroid, an autoimmune disease in which special antibodies are released that destroy the thyroid tissue and lead to insufficient hormone production.
Certain thyroid diseases require surgery or radiation therapy, which leaves too little tissue, which also leads to reduced hormone production. The body needs iodine to synthesize thyroid hormones. A lack of iodine in the blood can therefore also lead to reduced hormone production.
In rare cases, hypothyroidism can be genetic and congenital. This can result in the thyroid gland being missing, underdeveloped or formed incorrectly in the body, or in the thyroid hormones being produced incorrectly.
What do I get and how long does the test take?
The Vitamin D self-test includes the following:
- 1 test cassette
- Instructions
- 2 lancets
- 1 buffer solution
- 1 alcohol pad
After the test has been performed, it takes about 5-10 minutes for the result to be available.
When should you take a test?
If you experience persistent symptoms such as tiredness, depression, feeling cold, dry skin or an irregular cycle, you can also conveniently perform this rapid test at home for screening purposes.
The self-test can be used at any time of day. However, please note that it is not recommended if you are undergoing hormonal thyroid treatment, as the result could quickly be distorted.
What consequences can an underactive thyroid have?
Undetected and untreated hypothyroidism can cause various complications and diseases, including:
- Increased blood lipid levels: A lack of thyroid hormones can lead to an increase in blood lipid levels, as less fat is transported from the blood to the liver. Long-term increased blood lipid levels can increase the risk of vascular deposits and heart attacks.
- Inhibition of growth and mental development: In children, untreated hypothyroidism can lead to physical and mental underdevelopment, such as dwarfism, deafness or developmental disorders.
- Secondary diseases: Secondary diseases can also manifest themselves in adults, including cardiovascular diseases, impaired consciousness and, in extremely rare cases, even comatose states.
- Myxedema coma: This rare complication can occur as a result of untreated hypothyroidism. Symptoms may include hypothermia, lack of oxygen, drop in blood pressure, and swelling of the skin.
